How I Scaled Content and Built 70+ Custom GPTs Without Sounding Robotic [BCS Talk]

Scale Your Content with Custom AI Tools and Save 90 of Your Time at BSC scaled
Ask questions about this post:

Let’s be real: content is everywhere, but good content is still painfully rare.

That’s because most people are using AI like it’s a magic trick.

They expect ChatGPT to write like them, think like them, and produce quality content on demand — without giving it any direction.

It doesn’t work. Exploring AI content systems framework helps optimize results.

I’ve spent the last year building and training over 70 custom GPTs — bots that write like me, sound like me, and even argue like me when needed. These GPTs now handle 80% of my content creation, without making me sound like a corporate zombie.

I recently presented this session live on Wednesday 8 October 2025 at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in London. The event brought together an incredible mix of marketers, technologists, founders, and AI‑curious professionals. I walked the audience through exactly how I use AI to scale content without losing my tone or sounding robotic.

Here’s how I scaled my content, saved 15+ hours a week, and built systems that actually work — using AI that sounds human.

The Problem: AI Content Is Still Too… AI

Let’s start here: yes, ChatGPT is amazing.
But out of the box, it’s painfully generic.

You’ve seen the tone:

“In today’s fast-paced digital landscape…”

Delete. Start over.

The real issue is this: AI content is only as good as the input. And most people aren’t giving it enough direction.

So I stopped trying to fix the output — and started fixing the system.

The Fix: Build an Army of Custom GPTs

I started with ChatGPT Plus (£20/month), turned on customisation, and gave it an identity that matched my own:

  • UK spelling

  • No emojis

  • No AI clichés

  • Tone: direct, witty, human

  • Field: AI, SEO, and comedy

Then I went further and built my own bots.
Not just one. Over 70 of them.

Each bot handles a single task with precision — all trained on my voice, style, and best-performing work.

Here’s What My GPTs Can Do

ComedyBot
Trained on my stand-up material. It understands my humour, references my backstory (including my stoner loan shark of a dad), and helps me test punchlines in real time.

Karen Complainer GPT
This one wrote a legally terrifying refund request when my Pilates studio charged me £620 twice. It cited UK consumer law and even included case references. Result: full refund.

RepurposeBot
I feed it a YouTube transcript or blog, and it outputs:

  • LinkedIn post

  • Twitter/X update

  • Instagram caption

  • YouTube Shorts title + description

It’s my personal content syndication system — no VA required.

ProposalBot, SalesBot, SEOBot — all follow the same logic:
Trained on my work. Built to deliver. No guesswork.

Want to Build Your Own GPTs?

Here’s my framework:

1. Pick One Repeatable Task

Complaints, newsletters, blog posts, proposals — start with one.

2. Upload Your Best Work

Don’t train on average content. Give GPT your highest-quality samples.

3. Write a Specific Prompt

Include role, tone, format, context, and clear boundaries. Define what “done” looks like.

4. Test and Refine

Run it through 3–5 real prompts. Make changes. Improve tone and flow.

5. Save and Share

Custom GPTs are linkable. Share them with clients, team members, or even use them as part of your offer.

I built a free tool to help you get started:
Prompt Maker GPT

Use These GPTs Now

I shared two of my most popular GPTs publicly:

Prompt Maker GPT: Helps you structure high-quality prompts for better output.
Karen Complainer GPT: Writes formal complaints with legal backing. Genuinely terrifying.

Try them. Clone them. Make them yours.

Automation: The Final Layer

Manual prompting got old. So I built a fully automated pipeline using Make.com.

Now my system looks like this:

  1. A keyword is added to a Google Sheet

  2. My GPTs do the research, write the blog, format it

  3. The content is scored for SEO

  4. It’s published to WordPress

  5. It’s shared on LinkedIn, X, Medium

  6. I get a confirmation email when it’s live

I don’t touch a thing. It runs while I sleep, train, or do stand-up.

This is how I show up across 5+ platforms consistently — without losing my tone, time, or mind.

Final Thoughts

The mistake most people make with AI?
They treat it like a shortcut.

But AI isn’t here to replace your creativity.
It’s here to scale it — as long as you train it properly.

This system didn’t just help me produce more content.
It helped me produce better content. Consistently. In my own voice.

Whether you’re a solo marketer, agency owner, or creative — you can build this too.

Start with one task. One GPT. One prompt.
And go from there.
